What We DoMake A Change at UNCW is involved not only in the Wilmington community, but is also affiliated with the National Diaper Bank of North Carolina. We run service events at the local Lowe’s Foods and Harris Teeter stores to collect monetary donations as well as diapers. We also table, collect diapers, and raise awareness on the campus of UNCW. We hope in the Spring of 2016 to hold a National Diaper Bank Assembly, as well as volunteer at one of the National Diaper Bank Assembly warehouses in Maryland. Being a member of Make A Change at UNCW is not only a promise to help mothers and their children through donating diapers and raising awareness, but also a chance to make friends, and challenge yourself to become a better leader and team member.
Who We AreThe purpose and objectives of this organization are to raise awareness and support for diaper need in the Wilmington area by promoting the issue, educating our community, and organizing diaper drives to donate to the North Carolina Diaper Bank. As a completely student-run organization, Make A Change will provide opportunities for UNCW students to engage in community service projects, develop a passion for this community service, and evolve into leaders as they become more involved.
